These days it would be difficult to describe politics in Ottawa as dull. A minority Liberal government clings to power, while more gruesome details flow from the Gomery inquiry.

     Numerous scenarios could unfold as the Martin Liberals use parliamentary procedures to delay a confidence vote in the House of Commons. The possibilities are mind-boggling. It’s even left constitutional expert C.E.S. Franks of Queen’s University unwilling to make any kind of prediction. But one thing remains clear: Canadians will go to the polls sometime within the next 10 months. Although it’s likely the election will come soon (probably the end of June or early July).
