THE HILLARY ENIGMA
Earlier this month, Senator Hillary Clinton spoke to a small gathering at Hostos Community College in New York City. "Many Americans are nervous about their own lives," she said. "For many people, they’re being encouraged to think that their problems are due to immigrants. But really their problem is they’re in an economy that isn’t working for everyone."
This is the sort of speech Senator Clinton delivers on a regular basis. Her progressive positions on immigration, children’s health, and veteran’s care are well established. That should please progressive and liberal voters. But Clinton remains an enigma to many Americans –especially some of her liberal supporters. Sometimes there appears to be no end to the question: Who is the real Hillary?
Some critics say she’s betrayed those liberal supporters, and is only interested in winning. But conservatives rail against her position on numerous issues too.
