THE DANGERS OF WEALTH
With the news media focused on Benedict XVI’s recent five-day tour of Brazil, there’s been little attention paid to his new book.
Entitled Jesus of Nazareth, the 400-page publication was released in North America this week. It places the Pope’s given name Joseph Ratzinger on the cover.
Last month the book stirred some controversy when it was released in Europe. For example: One of Italy’s top Vatican scholars told The New York Times (anonymously) that, "If you are in the position to govern, then govern; if you are a writer then write. But the idea of a sovereign that also writes complicates things because this is not an official act."
