There is a haunting drawing by Patti Smith of the skeletal remains of the World Trade Center. Better known as a musician and poet, Smith’s South Tower: The Kingdom of God is Within You includes the names of those who died in the buildings and the planes that hit them. There are also excerpts from Smith’s own poetry and William Blake’s, and quotes from Gandhi and others. It captures something words cannot.
