The 25th anniversary of the murder of Archbishop Romero was marked on March, 25, 2005. Many Christians around the world consider him to be an uncanonized saint.

     A few years after Archbishop Romero’s death, Jesuit Jon Sobrino (the author of Christ the Liberator) was asked why Romero continues to be alive among his people. His reply was significant. "Monseñor Romero had a great love, an immense love for his people, and for that reason he continues to live among the poor," he said.
