There is a mnemonic current among Evangelical Christians these days: WWJD. It stands for "What Would Jesus Do?" When I read of this effort to help Christians put their faith to work, a couple things came to mind. One was the works of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, a Baptist, in his private peace-making initiatives and in his involvement with Habitat for Humanity,
building homes for the poor.
