Last May, a commentary in The New Yorker magazine by John Cassidy outlined an economic scenario which contradicted the corporate attitude of the day. Cassidy wrote that “time-honoured methods” of evaluating the stock market revealed it was overvalued by at least a quarter, and maybe as much as a half.
