Natasha is in her third high school in three years -the first in Israel, the second in Montreal, and the last, here in St. John’s. She grew up not far from the Chernobyl site, speaking Ukrainian and Russian. Since her family left the former Soviet Union, she’s learned Hebrew and quite a bit of French. Now, buoyed by English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at her downtown school, she is well on her way to becoming fluent in English....
