LET JUSTICE ROLL

In a recent issue of Mother Jones magazine, political economist and historian Gar Alperovitz asks a blunt question: “Is there anything important and potentially system-changing going on at the grassroots level today?”
His answer is “Yes.” But he adds that you have to look beyond traditional media reporting, and even beyond the traditional New Deal and progressive policy paradigms. Citing examples of what he means, Alperovitz briefly mentions the “Living Wage” campaigns taking place across the U.S. I’m glad he did, because they represent something significant happening at the local and state level.
