LIBERTY AND THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST
by Bishop Paul Peter Jesep
"If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another . . ."
1 John 1:6-7

The United Church of Christ (UCC), with a spiritual lineage that dates to the Mayflower’s arrival, is standing strong in the face of attacks against free speech, social justice and religious freedom in the United States. Although the negative response to its recent television commercial by two major networks was unexpected, this progressive denomination of 1.3 million members is now a focal point for liberty under fire.
